Caden's first 5k!

This morning we all ran the "Get Moving for Healthy Kids 5k" that benefits the school-based clinic for the Iowa City School District.  It was really nice out so Caden went in the jogging stroller.  Here are some pictures:

We are also very proud of our little man- he is now sleeping in his crib!!  It took a few rough nights but he now goes down in his crib, rolls right over, and is fast asleep.  He still wakes up once for some food- but we don't mind the snuggles!

Here is one of his last nights in the "Snuggamonkey" or as Grandpa would call it "the Sardine Can"

First time in the crib.  Grandma bought him a little Snuggamonkey to keep him company.

Officially asleep for the first time!!!

Here is Caden and Dad hanging out watching TV.
Lastly, I just had to share this picture of Caden with all his monsters.  Grandpa bought Caden his newest (the green one on the right with blue underwear!)  He has quite the collection!

Big Man update

It has been so long since I have updated on Caden.  He is 3 months and 4 weeks old- and chubbier than ever!  He STILL does not miss a meal- and my family can attest to it as they were on vacation with us for a week.  Caden now babbles and laughs- which is so much fun.  He reaches for toys and puts EVERYTHING into his mouth.  His favorite toy is a little Giraffe we named "Geoffrey".  He likes to sit in his bouncy chair and kick away.

He still LOVES his bath time.  Dad still takes over for baths- he gets in every little roll!  Mom likes to come in and style the hair when there is shampoo in it! :)

Here is Caden's new favorite thing.  He likes to sit in his high chair while we eat dinner! He watches us put every single piece of food in our mouths.  We both feel a little bad we can't give him any!

Here are Caden's pictures when he was 3 months old- such a happy boy!  He has an extensive collection of monsters.  He loves looking at them and now laughs at them!
Caden is still waking up once a night to eat- which isn't bad! Here is a picture of him at 1am- what a happy boy.  If you are wondering why his shirt is off, Dad may have put him in some PJ's that were a little too tight- his poor legs couldn't stretch out.  In his defense, this not-so-little man is growing fast!

Here is Mr. Handsome in his jogging stroller.  Gone are the days when he would lay in his carseat that attaches to the stroller.  He wants to sit up and see everything.

Here are some pictures from Caden's 3-month shoot.  It was included in our picture package with our newborn photographer.  She is great!  If you are looking for a photographer, I would highly suggest Rosa Digital Arts!

Table Rock Lake 2013

Last week we took our annual vacation to Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri.  We were a little nervous for the drive down there (7 hours), as Caden is not liking the car seat at all these days!

The drive to Table Rock (Don't let that smile fool you! He wasn't this happy the whole time!)  Dad sat in back with Caders and entertained him.  He slept about 4 hours!

Aunt Katie thought it would be funny to wrap him like a burrito! This little man has hated being swaddled since he was 2 days old...but he thought it was pretty funny when Aunt Katie did it!

Putting the life jacket on!

Getting on the boat for the first time!

Sitting in the back with Dad!  A little more windy back there.  He didn't mind the boat as long as Grandpa was going fast!  As Grandpa would say, "He has the need for speed!"

Getting in the lake with Dad

Tuckered out after a long day at State Park Marina.  Eating lunch for Nathan's birthday.

Caden loves wearing his Dino hat to keep the sun off those luscious locks!

Time for the pool!

Swimming in his float- he loved the pool!

Swimmin with Dad.

Relaxing in the cabin with Grandma.  Big smile!

Boatin' with Grandpa!

Tuckered out after a long week!

Although the weather wasn't so great, we had a fun week!  Caden got lots of time with Aunt Katie and Grandma and Grandpa!  Hard to believe next year he will be walking and talking when we go back!
