Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we went to Wilson's Orchard in Iowa City to get Caden a pumpkin and pick some apples.   It was really sunny (and we forgot Caden's hat!)  However, I think he really enjoyed it!

Seriously- he hates the sun!

Grumpy pumpkin!

A little happier!

Dad picked out this pumpkin!

We found one Caden's size!

Picking apples!

Matt thought he would let Caden try his apple- don't worry, he has had applesauce before and is not allergic! :)

He was loving the sweet and sour "Regent" apple!

Tired little man after a fun morning!

Six-month Update

Wow!  It has been a month since I have updated.  Needless to say, our lives have become MUCH busier and a whole lot more germ-ier!  Amy has started doing her clinical hours at a Pediatric clinic in Cedar Rapids.  She goes 2 full days there, one full day of class, and works the other days.  Matt is still working full time at Transamerica.  So, Caden goes to daycare full time at La Montessori Nurtery across the street from our house.  After a few rough weeks of not sleeping and picking up every sickness possible, I think we have finally warmed up to daycare.  The daycare ladies love him- they are kind of sad when he gets picked up early by his Aunt Katie!
Caden is doing so many new things and getting to be such a big boy!!  We see a lot of his dad in him!
He definitely loves his football- he even watches the screen while he is drinking his bottles- no joke!

Here are the boys in their jerseys on Sunday (gameday!)

Caden's newest thing is that he found out who Charlie is.  His face lights up every time Charlie comes near him.  He gets the biggest grin on his face and reaches right for Charlie's nose.  If he is lucky, he gets some kisses on his face from Charles!

We are trying all sorts of new foods!  Haven't found any that he doesn't like- does that surprise you?  We have done sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, bananas, apples, avocados, and pears- YUM!

Here is Caden with all his monsters- we had to take a picture with his newest monster that Grandpa got him!  (It's the green one in front with blue underwear)

Caden is now finding other things to do when he is napping.  More recently, he discovered his feet.  Maybe it is all that baby yoga they do at daycare.  If he loses some of that belly he might be able to reach them!

Here is Caden in his hat that matches Daddy's hat!

We got Caden a jumper because he loves being active and moving his feet.  We put him in and he just starting going to town.  We found out fast that he doesn't like to jump after he eats!--- oops!

Even though he is getting so big, he is still my little man!  I will miss his cuddle sessions when he gets bigger, but for now I will take every opportunity! :)

Here is our little man in the bathtub- he is still loving his baths and splashing a lot!

Game day- GO HAWKS!

Here is a very recent picture of Caders.  He is very drool-y- wonder if he is getting teeth?

Our handsome man at a wedding on October 12.  He was quite the attention-stealer!

Here is another one of his new things- that funny little smile!

Week of Firsts!

For Labor Day weekend we went back to Des Moines to visit everyone before Amy starts school up again.  It was a really busy weekend and we had so much fun seeing everyone.  I can't believe how much we crammed in!

This is a picture from before we left.  I thought it would be a good idea to gel his hair.  Turns out, it is way too long here to gel!
Caden having a group meeting with his friends!
Another picture to show you how long his hair is!  What a happy boy!

I thought this picture was pretty cute!  I was changing his diaper and forgot some wipes.  When I came back, I saw this little bottom in the air.

So Aunt Katie told us we HAD to get Caden a haircut.  When we got to Des Moines, we were searching for places.  We drove past Sports Clips, where Matt gets his hair cut and thought it would be perfect.  Not only was it Iowa's first football game, but Caden was sporting his Iowa jersey!

He slept through the whole haircut!

 Showing us his Mohawk!
He woke up as we were getting done- and loved his new hair!

I think he was a little upset the Hawkeyes lost their first game!

We also started to give Caden some solid foods.  We started with Rice Cereal.  He wasn't too thrilled with this.

Haha I don't know if this came back out at us but it looks like it might!

I also wanted to throw in this picture of Charlie- It was his 2nd birthday on September 4th!

Here is Caden in Grandpa's fully restored pedal car from when he was a little boy.

Doesn't he look like Daddy!?
Our little Hawkeye! :)
